then. now. & someday.

New Dawn Arts Center, Inc. was incorporated as a nonprofit public charity in Massachusetts on April 27, 2021 with federally recognized tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. This is a volunteer run organization.

The mission of New Dawn Arts Center, Inc. is to strive to enliven and unite the community around the arts through programming that makes arts education, appreciation, practice, and presentation accessible and available to our greater region.

Join in our journey as we raise the funds necessary and the helping hands required to create a thriving modern arts center and community gathering place for our greater region in our historic Community Church building. The property will be owned by New Dawn Arts Center, Inc., and will still have space used by the congregation and other local community groups and businesses related to the arts.

Our building was constructed in 1834, the year after Massachusetts separated church and state. Our steeple houses a church bell cast by a former apprentice of Paul Revere. Our floral stained glass window in the north wall was donated by Jacob Fairbanks in 1890. We are very proud of our 1886 pipe organ by Boston organ builder George Hutchings. We continue to find pride in the history of our building in our ongoing research including the connection to one of the early ministers and abolitionist movement.

Now we look forward at what this space can become: a safe space for art, history, culture, connection, expression, activism, community, wellness, storytelling, voice.
